My boss is on a rampage about getting our station website updated. Like a fanatic. The company is so cheap that they refuse to hire a web person, so they just make us all do it, and keep piling more and more onto our plates and want us to do more with less. Everyone is stressed out and cranky. He has yelled at me everyday this week.
Monday he called me into his office, started shouting at me, put his hand up in my face as I started to argue back with him and said to me, “this is a one way conversation.”
I had to bite my tongue to keep myself from saying that wasn’t a conversation then, it was a lecture. We kept yelling at each other, even when a job candidate came and stood in his doorway. I was yelling at him at that point. He tried to diffuse the situation and tried to calm me down, but I was on a roll.
I work 9 hours a day, I eat lunch at my desk EVERY DAY. So I decided, I’m off the clock for an hour at lunch everyday. No one will force me to take a lunch, so I’m going to give myself a break. My boss came out and wanted to talk to me and my coworker about something on our website and I actually said to him, “sorry, I’m off the clock.” And I proceeded to eat and mess around on tumblr. I’m not sure what’s gotten into me! But I like the sassy new me!
He yelled at me yesterday, and again today. This morning when he called me into his office I told him that it had been a crappy couple of days. He told me, “just get over it."
My mouth dropped open and before I could even think, I said, "Well, that’s real nice.” I was very sarcastic. He told me that was reality. He then told me I should be glad I wasn’t on the conference call with the upper management. I told him that it was better for my health, and really the health of everyone involved that I wasn’t on that call. He didn’t have anything to say to that.
Needless to say, I’m looking for a new job. I don’t get paid enough to put up with this crap.
Thanks for listening friends!
Have a great day!
