- Last night I got into it with the resident Bizzo at my work. The attacks became personal across a crowded newsroom. My boss wasn’t mad at me, but at her. And I learned something about myself: if that would have happened a few years ago, I would have cried either during it or after. Because anger used to turn to tears for me. But now? I’m older and wiser (HA!) and tears don’t come during fights.
- The rage I felt during the argument fueled my run (she asked me what I do I all day, because a mistake was made that wasn’t my fault. Then she accused of me of copying and pasting the news!) Needless to say I was enraged.
- I set out last night to run 5 miles. Since I moved, I miscalculated the distance and ended up running 7 miles instead. I think I needed it.
- I also ended up running super fast. It’s amazing what anger will do for a run! On the route with the big hill I ended up running a 6:59/pace down the hill! I felt like I was flying!!
- I was consistently running a sub 10:00/mile. I also ran a 8:45/mile. That is incredibly fast for me! Rage-fueled runs can be awesome. I even was running into a pretty good headwind and it started sprinkling a bit.
- A car-full of teenage boys yelled “hey baby, can I have your number?” at me. Its always nice when that happens!
- The Lincoln Half-Marathon is May 5th. I’m feeling pretty good about my training.
Have a good Thursday Friends! 🙂
