This is a response post to this post. I generally run in the mornings, but lately I’ve had some troubles getting my butt out of bed. This morning, I managed to do it!
- The sunrise. Its pretty cool to watch the sun come up while you’re running through a sleepy town. (or not so sleepy city!)
- The smell. It’s something that I just can’t identify…maybe its the dew on the grass, the night air clearing, I don’t know. But it’s there and it’s fabulous.
- Running through sleepy neighborhoods. There is no one up and about and it feels like the world is yours. I like that feeling.
- Seeing random people eating their breakfast outside. In just their robes. Or their boxers, (no judgement! I’ve witnessed this!).
- There’s a certain serenity and calmness to the morning. The world is waking up, and me? I’ve just run 5 miles before most of them have even gotten out of bed!
- Knowing that I’ve got my run in and done and it’s only 7:30am? LOVE THAT!
- It wakes me up. It puts me in such a good mood and wakes me up more than shower and breakfast do.
- There aren’t a lot of people out…or a lot of other runners. Running is MY time. I don’t like to share it.
- However, conversely, I do like saying “good morning” to the other runners I meet along the way. What can I say, I’m complicated.
- It’s a great way to start my day. Endorphines and sweat. Good stuff.
- Getting honked at by random dudes. This happened to me again this morning! Usually it only happens at night, but I’ll take it when I can get it! 😉
These are just some of my reasons. I know there are more, but these are the onese I can think of right now!
