I had to look it up. Tastes similar to chicken when unripe and can be used as a meat substitute. When ripe tastes like a cross between a banana and a pineapple and is quite sweet. But agree—$40 is quite expensive.

Huh. That’s so odd that a fruit could taste both like chicken and like a banana/pineapple! The wonders of nature!
