I am so humbled by the responses to this post. Thank you all for the sweet words. I truly appreciate all of them.
Because I’ve been this size for about 2 years now, I think it’s easy for me to forget where I’ve been. Where I’ve come from. Finding those pants was a fantastic reminder.
I’ve gained quite a few new followers with that post. So here’s a little bit about me:
- I’m Melissa. I’m 31. I’m a TV News Producer from Nebraska.
This is me!

- In 2005, I weighed 295 pounds. A friend and I had a “come to Jesus” moment and I started on this new, healthy path.
- October 3, 2011 I hit my goal weight: I lost half my body weight of 147.5 pounds. I looked a little scary skinny. I’m 5’9". My doctor wanted me to gain about 5 pounds. (Being told to gain weight was AWESOME!)
- I have run 5 half marathons and one Full Marathon (Chicago 2012).
- I’m done running Fulls. My knee can’t take it. I’m good with that.
- I’ve maintained this weight for nearly 2 years now.
- I’m a part of the National Weight Control Registry. It’s for people who have successfully lost and kept off more than 30lbs for over 2 years. I think 150ish pounds qualifies. 🙂
- I like to write about my life. The good, the bad, the ugly. It’s why I’m here.
Thanks for joining me on this journey!
