Thank you so much!
I totally know what you mean about working out like crazy and then falling flat when it comes to diet. The truth is: you can’t out-exercise a bad diet. Bodies are made in the kitchen and toned in the gym. It took me a long time to learn that. Some tips to help with the junk food cravings: Don’t buy the junk food. If you don’t have it around, you can’t eat it. Also, there is something to be said for moderation. You should do all things in moderation. When I was first losing weight I cut out the junk foods completely. When I got to my goal weight I added back in some treats. If you can have them in without binging, that’s great! But if you can’t then I totally understand.
For me, its about changing my mind and how I viewed some foods. You can’t view them as bad or forbidden. That’s when the cravings start. But if you consciously think about what you’re fueling your body with, you start to make informed and mindful choices. Will a box of Jr. Mints fuel me on my run? Not really, no. The sugars will give me quick energy, but make me feel like crap, to be honest. But choosing healthy fruits, veggies and other foods will fuel me for my days and my runs. Its hard to wrap your mind around it, but if you can, it will be worth it and I know you can break through that plateau! Good luck and let me know if I can help with anything else!
