Oh hey there Monday!
- Instead of taking PTO for Friday, I’m just going in an hour early Monday through Thursday this week and then I’m leaving at 11am Friday morning to get Sam from the airport (I think runningfortheriesling gets into Lincoln at noon?) two-o-nine and Andrew will roll into town at some point in the morning–TBA at this point. CANNOT WAIT!
- I don’t know why I’m saving my PTO–I get 180 hours a year, and that doesn’t include holidays or the 2 weeks that I get paid off at Christmas. Best job ever, or best job ever?!
- The struggle to get up this morning was REAL. I decided that today could be a second day hair kind of day. I think it still looks alright–albeit a little flat! But it’s amazing how much faster I can get ready when I don’t have to wash and dry my hair!
- I’m going to Orlando in June for a work conference. My co-worker is coming with me and we’re making a mini-vacation out of it–we’re going out one day early and staying one day late so we can hit Disney and Harry Potter World. I’m ridiculously excited!! A vacation that’s not surrounding a half marathon? Who am I?!?!
- My phone battery had been draining pretty rapidly and I was concerned. Turns out I had left the High Accuracy mode on, so it would find my location fast. I turned it off, and viola! Magic! It doesn’t drain so fast. Good stuff.
- I’m fairly sure I’m being Ghosted by the guy I went out with on a 2nd date with on Friday night. I’m not sure why, and I guess I don’t know for sure, but still, it sucks to be rejected and ghosted. Ugh.
- HOWEVER! Things were fun with last night’s date. I’m not sure when I’ll see him again (maybe May 11th?) as we’re both crazy busy the next few weeks. He did straight up ask me when he could see me again. I like that. A lot. More guys should do that kind of thing. Confidence is sexy. But regardless, I enjoyed his company last night! 😉
- runningforbiscuits commented on how flat Nebraska is. Well..it is, and it isn’t. The marathon route is mostly flat–but here’s the elevation chart:

When Brooke, becky-balances and getittogetherg were here in July for the Brownville Half, they all commented on how hilly Nebraska really is. I like to think of it as rolling hills. Mile 9 is where I hate myself for running this race. Every. Single. Year.
Happy Monday guys! Make it a great week!
