Friday Five (from today on snap chat)

1. “We’re at a fork in the road Melissa.” Words you NEVER want to hear from a doctor, even your dentist! He said I could either have a root canal or pull the offending tooth. I quickly agreed to the root canal and set it up for the next appointment—in TWO weeks. I had to call to change the antibiotic and they gave me more pain pills as I can’t seem to get a handle on the pain from the abscess right now. SIGH.

2. I have a first date with a new guy Saturday night. I have this feeling that there is a line that divides men at this age (early to mid 30s). I’m not sure where it is, but at some point it appears they just want to text you instead of actually talking to you on the phone. Then they hit some magical age where they’d actually rather just talk to you on the phone than text you AT ALL. And that guy? I REALLY LIKE him! Saturday night guy and I talked for an hour on Monday and then he asked me out for Saturday, saying he would touch base later this week to finalize plans, but he wanted to get penciled in for my weekend. He called last night to decide on a time and place. He said he would call today and make reservations just in case it was busy due to Valentine’s Day weekend. WHAT?!?! I’m a fan already. He’s 36, has a good job, seems like a good man, and he’s tall—6’4”!! As a tall girl (5’9”) I LOVE that!

3. Nice guy is still texting. He’s confused and doesn’t know what to do about his ex. He thinks I’m “Freaking amazing” and doesn’t know if he can trust her yet. So there’s that. He texted while I was out with the Firefighter. Who, despite saying he’s emotionally unavailable, acts like he is! We text and snap chat pretty much every day. I’m just going with it for now. I have yet to talk to him today—but I’m guessing I will hear from him at some point. Men. I also have a date with another guy on Monday. This dating around thing is kinda exhausting!

4. I’m supposed to go see “How to Be Single” with my girlfriends tonight. Every single one of them bailed on me. I really want to see it, and tonight may be the only time I can go so I think I’m taking myself to the movies tonight. I honestly don’t care if that makes me pathetic. I love going to the movies by myself!

5. Monday is President’s Day and therefore is a state holiday so I’m off. #blessed. Living the good life here people!
