dear future me,

wake up. i know it’s early and you want to stay in this warm bed for another hour. the last thing you want to do is stumble through the dark and put on your running shoes and head out the door.

but get up. trust me.

once you step outside, the air will hit you and you’ll hear birds beginning to sing their songs for the day and you’ll realize how quiet the world is right now. it’s just you and your breath striding through this perfect morning.

the trees are the most perfect shade of green in early morning light. you will smile at the moon still in the sky as it says farewell.

it will be the best start to your day.

so just get up. trust me.

Well that’s just mean.

I received this text last night after my good friend Keith got engaged yesterday. This person thought she was being funny, but I was not amused. My boyfriend wasn’t either. What a rude thing to say. I got a call from another friend today who said something along the same lines. Guys, it’s not a race! Getting engaged has nothing to do with anyone else, or anyone’s timeline.

Sheesh.

I’m a little salty about this. Who sends texts like that to your friends??? 😒

Friday, finally.

5:30 am is going to come fast! We are packed and ready to go! I’m in bed as I write this. It’s time to escape!

This photo came up in my newsfeed this morning. This was 9 years ago compared with today. I’m working on me, but I’m light-years ahead of where I was.

I’m going to say good night friends! I can’t wait to go wheels up tomorrow!

Monday

A decent day, followed by an intense spin class, a walk with the pups and taking some time to smell the flowers.

Then Rio had to ruin it.

That brat broke her end of the dual leash and ran away from me when we were two blocks from home. 😬 Charlie and I chased her across lawns and thru our neighborhood, and she thought it was a game! We’d get close, she dart off. It happened again and again. I got so frustrated. If dogs could laugh she’d be in stitches, crying from laughing so hard. I was not amused. I even yelled at her, “You’re running toward 40th (a busy street), do you WANT to die??”

Eventually, a guy around my age walked out of his house with his dog and he held onto Charlie while I finally got ahold of Rio. I had some strong words for her and we headed home. I sent that snap to my boyfriend, who is still at work. He was frustrated with her too.

In other news, we leave for vacation in 10 days!! I’m ready for sun, surf, and sand for seven days!!⛱🏝
