5 inches and it’s still coming down.
I am working from home, and glad I am because power is out at work and my coworker who made it in says it’s getting chilly there!

This is a wet heavy snow…And it’s crazy windy! Of course I can’t remote into my work computer, but I’m making it work! I’ve already done work today in my pjs, from my bed. That’s a win.

Officials are saying don’t travel if you don’t have to. So I’m going to stay put.
Too bad the satellite is out too…;)

They say we’re going to get 5-10 inches of snow tonight into tomorrow. 45 mile per hour winds will make it worse. So I switched tomorrow’s run for today because if I can run outside instead of on the treadmill, then I’ll do it!

I can work from home tomorrow, so that’s pretty awesome! I’m not too concerned about going in.

Today was crazy busy but in a good way. Each day that I’m doing my job I love it more. How fun is that?? 🙂

Have a great week cats!

Saturday.
4 miles. 55° degrees.
A decent run.

In other news, the nice guy started acting shady Friday. My gut told me something was up. Long story short he isn’t over his ex and she contacted him Thursday night, he wants to get closure on that because he didn’t think it’s fair to me to date until he has that closure.

I appreciate it, but geez, does that suck. I’m really tired of only dating emotionally unavailable and messed up men it seems. I’m not sure what the answer is, to take a break or what. But I do know that friends like @running-matt and @two-o-nine make things a lot easier.

After his texts this morning I headed out for my run. The sweat really did help me feel better. That saying really is true.

Tonight I’m going to the movies with my friend and then out with the ochos. I’m going to forget about dumb boys and feel better!

Hi Friends!

This has been a weird week here in the heartland. Snow Monday and then nice weather and a decent warm-up the rest of the week. They’re forecasting a “major snowstorm” next Tuesday. Could be significant snow—we’re talking 8-12+ inches. I’m so ready for spring. But I digress. Let’s talk about other things that aren’t the weather!

·Today was food day at work. My one co-worker is leaving for another job and the other had a birthday. So we brought in food and ordered pizza for lunch. I’m happy to report that I made decent food choices and feel good about what I ate.

·We’re in the middle of the Nebraska Legislative Session. (Fun Fact: Nebraska is the only state with Unicameral Legislature. We only have one house, one body. It works really well.) But that means things are crazy busy here! It has been a lot of go-go-go today. Makes the day go faster, I suppose.

·This morning my co-worker told me that I was, “A mix of Ginger and Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island.” He said I was “Ginger Ann!” I LOVE that!! He said that means I’m a good mix of the girl next door and the sexy movie star. Made my day! I posted that on Facebook and my former Chief Meteorologist said that is the perfect compliment to give to a woman, and in my case it was totally true! Love him!!

·I bought a Pink Hyacinth at Trader Joe’s on Saturday. I do not have green thumb, but that sucker is thriving and is quite beautiful and fragrant. I love it.

·The sunrise this morning was gorgeous. The sunset last night on my run was incredible. We have some pretty skies here this time of year.

·Speaking of runs, I’m going out again tonight for another 3 miles. Saturday is my “long run” of 4 miles. I believe I will be able to get all of my first week of Lincoln Half Marathon Training done outside. I’m a BIG fan of that!! Makes running so much more pleasant that way!

Happy Friday Eve Cats!

I missed my run this morning because I kept snoozing my alarm! However I was rewarded with pretty decent weather today so I ran outside after work!

3.35 miles//39:56. I had to walk through some snow that people didn’t clear from their sidewalks, but it was a good run.

I’m working on getting out of my own way. I haven’t made my best food choices lately and I can see and feel it in my body. I’m contemplating some pretty big changes and commitments. But I know that something has to give. Stay tuned!

You are such an inspiration! Everyday when I struggle in my life I think about the strives you made and I carries me forward! Thank you for being you!

Oh Anon!!! I love you, whoever you are!

I appreciate your kind words and compliments! I’ve gotten some mean anonymous messages recently, and considered turning that option off. But this one makes up for the cruel words that others have said!

There really are good people in the world!! 🙂

Here is what I know: losing weight is hard. Being overweight is hard. Every day will be a struggle to keep the weight off. But every day that I choose myself and fitness over instant gratification is another day that I win.

Thank you Anon! You totally made my day!
