You are quite delicious 😋
😉
Anonymously tell me how you feel about me. I can’t reply, I just have to read it and post it.
Scenes from a Tuesday
- I changed clothes to go for a walk with the dogs and I was NOT unhappy with what I saw. Sure, there’s some extra weight still there, bulges and whatnot, but I am actually fairly happy with what I see in the mirror, even though I am still trying to lose more. It’s a nice feeling. I’m sure it helps that things are fitting better since I’ve lost some weight! 😉
- My coworker and I are taking advantage of the nice weather we’ve had have been taking walks at lunch. We go around 3 miles and it is great. Good conversation and a good workout. Today we met Oscar. He’s a rescue dachshund and just a sweet little boy. Made my heart happy to get to pet him. (My parents have two dachsies at home and I miss my girls!)
- This third picture is NOTÂ from today. In fact, it is from 2013 and when I ran across it the other day it made me SAD. I need to get those arms back. Aside from just losing some weight to get rid of the flab, I need to tone. And you know how I did it? The 100-day pushup challenge. So my walking buddy and I are going to that starting May 1st. I want to have some sweet guns for my wedding next year!
- Speaking of the wedding, I am working on getting the details of the wedding hammered out. Thaks to @runs4donuts I found a travel agent (her sis-in-law) who gets what we want and is super nice! She’s working up the specs for us this week. Thanks, Tiff! We want to get our engagement photos taken ASAP so we can send our save the dates out soon–but I want them to be outside in springy weather…and that has not been the case recently. I am hoping that Mother Nature gets her stuff together and things start budding and blooming soon.
- We got an email from HR on Monday that we move to summer hours 8am-4pm starting May 14 (we only get off 30 minutes early, but 30 minutes is 30 minutes in the summer!) AND the University is closed July 2-4, so we get those days as holidays!
- I am beyond excited because the week prior to that I am going to Washington, D.C. for a conference. I leave Sunday, June 24, and plan to stay until June 30 to sightsee. Instead of flying back here, I will likely fly to Nebraska and see my family and friends and do wedding stuff (like hopefully pick out a dress!) and come back here on July 10, only burning 4 days of vacation time, but out of the office for 2.5 weeks!!!Â
Have a great evening, friends!

The beautiful @measuringlife tagged me in this get to know you post Monday. As it is now Tuesday I should probably get to it!

The sun came back!!!
So Rio and I had to go for a walk. Charlie was up in the night throwing up, so he stayed home and my boo is taking a nap.
Have you guys tried this brand of protein shake? I got it when we went to visit my future in-laws in Buffalo in March and my future MIL and I ran to Wegman’s. They are SO GOOD and this flavor doesn’t even taste like a protein shake. It’s smooth and creamy, and tastes like it would have way more than 130 calories in it! We don’t live near a Wegman’s either, but I ordered the coconut cream and green tea matcha and the chocolate truffle flavor on Amazon. The prime shipping was totally worth it on this one… The box was super heavy!
Also, I’m loving watching my Nebraska Huskers spring game on BTN. A new coach (former player Scott Frost who turned around UCF) and a rabid fanbase means this one is soldout. For a practice! Go Big Red!!🎈🌽
Happy Saturday friends!!
Current song obsession.
Echosmith-Over My Head
I might be slightly late to this game, as this was released in March, however, I have found my spring jam. Enjoy!
I have to tag my fellow music aficionados, @keepgoinggreen and @this-incredible-journey !!
Let’s Celebrate!
Guys, in the last month I’m down 5.8 pounds!

I weigh myself every day and track it. I just compared 3/19 to 4/19 and had to do the math about 3 times before I would believe it!!
I have seriously committed myself to weighing and measuring my food, staying within my calories and macros, and basically cut out sweets (my kryptonite!) I had to do that the first time around as well. It is true, you can’t out-exercise a bad diet!Â
I find the science of how my body is responding to this fascinating. If you’ve ever thought about tracking macros, give it a try! It seriously works.
I have not been doing enough exercise. I know this. I am working on this. But, what seems to work for me is getting my mind right about food, and then adding in the exercise again. I have been running, just a few miles at a time a few days a week. Not really much of anything, but I am working on getting back into a heavier routine. #stopmakingexcusesMelissa
With this loss, I am 16 pounds away from my goal weight! Go team!
Hump Day Happenings
- I think that I should get a referral bonus from Felix Gray. I have at least two co-workers who are purchasing a pair, and a few others who are interested. I LOVE mine. A week in and I feel like my eyes aren’t tired at the end of the day and I haven’t gotten any headaches lately!! Win!
- Rio and I went to the vet yesterday. She needed some booster shots and just a general checkup. She loves everyone and everyone loves her so she was showered with attention and treats from the front desk worker. In that last picture, she’s checking out the syringe with her bordetella booster shot.
- Her blue eyes get so many comments (she’s a husky/lab mix) and she’s the sweetest girl–just not always very forthcoming with kisses!
- I’m getting a massage after work today and I am beyond excited. I need it!!Â
- It has snowed or rained here all day. The 10-day forecast shows some promise though!
Have a great day, friends!

I call this photo “The Never-ending Winter”
