Photoshoots in the desert.

We took senior portraits, because that’s what you do…then we had a conference outing to Topgolf. That was a blast! I may suck at it, but we had a great time.

Last day of conference, then I head home for a hot minute tomorrow before I fly to Denver Thursday for my best friend’s wedding.

Phoenix, I’ll definitely be coming back. And it will be sooner, rather than later! šŸ˜‰

Sometimes, you meet someone and you just click. You’re fast friends and know you’ve bonded for life. That’s how it was with this-incredible-journey tonight.

Elizabeth is good people. She drove an hour and a half from Tucson to have dinner with me while I’m in Phoenix this week for a work conference. We’ve texted and messaged back and forth and I knew we’d be instant friends when we met.

Thanks for the girl talk, the belly laughs, and the wonderful Mexican food! I can’t wait to come back to hang out again soon!

ā€œWhoā€™ll stop the rain?ā€ The Friday 5 Version

  1. More storms, more flooding. And Iā€™m scared my basement has water in it. Le Sigh. Iā€™ll see when I get home I guess.
  2. My friend and I are going to see Pitch Perfect 2 after work today. Iā€™m SOOO excited!!!
  3. I bought that fabulous doormat at Target last night. Did I need it? Nope. Do I love it? Yep. Totally worth $12.
  4. I was getting ready to workout with a quick run and death by Jillian last night, when I looked at myself in the mirror from the side and I was surprised with what I saw. Who is that girl in the mirror? Sometimes I just donā€™t know that I see how I really look anymore. Itā€™s hard to explain, yet Iā€™m sure you all know exactly what Iā€™m trying to get at. The mind is a weird thing.
  5. I leave for Phoenix on Sunday. I have not packed a thing. I get home late Wednesday night and leave Thursday afternoon for Denver for my Best Friendā€™s wedding. To say that Iā€™m stressed is an understatement. I wish I didnā€™t live my life by the phraseĀ ā€œThe ultimate inspiration is the deadline.ā€ Get it together Melissa! Sheesh.

Have a great weekend friends! Iā€™m packing my bikini (because life is too short!) and heading to the land of the dry heat! Canā€™t wait!!

Thursday Things

  • Jillian Michaels hates my legs. That is the only explanation for the amount of squats and lunges she is making me do in the 30 Day Shred. Standing up and sitting down are currently quite comical.
  • On the other hand, Iā€™m kinda digging my legs currently. Theyā€™re strong (and getting stronger!) and I feel like I am in a good place.
  • So…Advocare Spark. Does anybody use this? Do you like it? Benefits/problems with it? Tell me more. My former Massage Therapist is a distributor and wants me to try it. She gave me these samples last night and I tried the orange one this morning. I feel more awake…but otherwise Iā€™m not sure what to think. She thinks I should do the 24 day Challenge. Thoughts?
  • I went to dinner the other night with my girlfriends from The Corky Canvas. (Remember when I was a bartender there for about a year?) Well, one of my friends was telling us that she and her husband unplug EVERYTHING that is non-essential when theyā€™re not using it. The result? Their electric bills have been $14. Yep, you read that right: $14 bucks. For a house! I thought that unplugging thing only saved you pennies! My roomie and I are totally on board. Even though our bill is only $37…$20 is $20!Ā 
  • After I go home from work on Friday I wonā€™t be back in the office until May 27th! That seems like forever, and yet not that long either.Ā 
  • Good News! The restoration guys FINALLY took the dehumidifiers and fans out of the basement! So Iā€™m hoping that means weā€™ll get carpet soon and things can be moved out of the living room and life can go back to normal soon. The Great Flood of Last Week needs to be over and done with. I canā€™t handle the mess that is my house.Ā
