Yes, I’m laying on my office floor, making a face. I’m just done with today, ok? Can I go home yet?

It has been one of those days: ALL the phone calls, ALL the problems, NONE of the solutions. Requests that make no sense from the accountants. Meetings and random credit card issues and technology hates me today. And then it rained and then it snowed and then the temperature dropped 20 degrees in 2 hours.

Clearly, I’m whiny today. Thanks for listening friends. Sometimes you just need to vent.

Everything’s coming up Milhouse!

  • So I got that $10K sponsorship yesterday and I was ridin’ pretty high for the rest of the day because of that.
  • Then today, I emailed a school and asked them how much they would like to sponsor us with this year. My contact replied right away and said $5,000. Last year they only did $1,300. Boo-yah!
  • Then I talked to another contact and set up a phone call for this afternoon to talk about their level of sponsorship. As of right now I’m at $31,000 committed. Heck yeah!
  • It is 45 degrees and sunny outside. *Praise Hands Emoji*
  • Tuesday, you aren’t so bad

I got my Tumblr Secret Valentine!

Except I don’t know which one of you lovely people actually sent it! I have my suspicions, but I don’t want to be wrong and tag the wrong person in this post!

Mine came from The Netherlands, how freaking cool is that?!

I love the treats, and socks and bear are adorable! Thank you! Now, will someone claim responsibility so I can properly thank you for this?

Monday, you’re kind of awesome

  • Have I told you guys that I have to raise Sponsorship money for the annual conference that my work puts on each fall in November? Well. I do. They set my goal this year at $50,000, which is a pretty significant jump from last year’s total and goal. I was a little bit freaked out. That’s a pretty significant amount of money for one person to be responsible for raising in less than a year.
  • The above GIF is me today, after I secured a $10,000 sponsorship from one organization!!! That’s the first time we’ve had a sponsorship in that amount!! The highest has only ever been $5000. Boom. Drop the Mic.
  • That means, with the others that I’ve secured we’re at $26,000 committed for the year. My goal was to reach that number by July 1st. I’m freaking out! I ran around the office to tell my co-workers, there was a lot of dancing around and jumping up and down involved in my story. It’s a good day.
  • In other news, I didn’t do my long run yesterday. I was so freakin’ tired from this weekend between working and my friend’s 30th birthday party Saturday night that I knew any miles I would try to run would be a struggle and I decided I didn’t need to go down that path.
  • My Tumblr Secret Valentine is waiting for me at the Post Office! I got the above notice in the mail that it is a signature required parcel and I will head there after work to pick it up. Can’t wait!
  • I went to the mall on Valentine’s day and the guys at Complete Nutrition stopped me and managed to get me to try this machine that allegedly measures body fat and whatnot. They signed me up for a drawing but evidently, Dylan (the guy helping me) really wants my business! He sent me a card telling me how nice it was to meet me and that he couldn’t run as much as I do, and that they have some nice products that I should look into. He also included his cell phone number. Thanks for trying dude, not bloody likely.

Anywho, I hope you’re all having a great Monday Cats! I’m in a pretty fantastic mood! 🙂

TUMBLR FORCES UNITE!

Friends!! I’ve seen you do some incredible things in the past and we need your help again!

My nephew Sam loves riding his little tricycle. On family walks, he speeds along the sidewalk on wheels much faster than he could on two legs. He is in a contest to win an incredibly cool special needs bike that would adapt to his size as he grows, so he could enjoy it for life!! What a gift that would be.

PLEASE GO VOTE! And if you would, share the link as well. It takes just a second, but you do need to log in through Facebook. We want our Sammy boy to roll away with the contest! 🙂

(Update on his health situation: the strange facial expressions and behavior he was exhibiting last weekend have subsided. He has an EEG scheduled on March 3rd where they will find out more about what’s going on inside his head. Thank you for your prayers!)

Do it! It takes 2 seconds!!

Five Things I Love (No People)

I was tagged by the fabulous thatsminethankyou

  1. The smell of freshly cut grass in the spring and summer. Especially the first time it happens again in the spring. When I’m running through neighborhoods on a dewy, sunny Saturday morning and lawns have just been cut? Love that smell.
  2. Puppy snuggles.
  3. When you wake up in the middle of the night and realize that you either have a.) hours and hours more time before the alarm goes off. Or b.) it’s Saturday and you have nowhere to be that morning. Perfection.
  4. The anticipation of events. Be it holidays, trips or a big deadline or project at work. There’s deliciousness involved there.
  5. When your hair is effortlessly beautiful and you totally nail your outfit and someone actually notices!! High Fives for them!

Oh Thursday…

  • 4 Tempo miles on the schedule this morning. I woke up late and managed to get 2 of them in. So I’m not a complete failure. Just a partial one.
  • It’s snowing again right now. It’s bloody freakin’ cold too. I need a tropical vacation, stat.
  • Easy 5 tomorrow and Easy 6 Saturday. Should we take bets that I will actually get them done at the hotel, before the all-day long board meetings? I really have no other choice. Suck it up, Melissa.
  • Have you seen this?

I dig it. Love me some JT.

  • Did I tell you guys I get to go to Seattle in June for our Summer Board meeting? I’m so excited as I’ve never been to the Pacific Northwest. Who can I meet while I’m there? Is that close to any of you?? Message me!

Have a good one, Cats!
