Scenes from a pretty good weekend (and Monday so far!)

  • I went to the Husker game on Saturday with My mom and her friend and my friend. Good times. My Huskers won. It was a gorgeous day.
  • At the game, during kickoff, students and a lot of other people in south stadium take off their shoes. This hardcore fan took it one step further and took off his prosthetic leg! Dedication, man.
  • It was a warm one Sunday! 84 degrees on October 26th?!? What is this? I went for a very warm run in the “heat” of the day. I regretted it almost immediately.
  • Today I had my 6 month dental check up–No cavities!! And then, Since I’ll be out of town during the election next week, I went to vote early. I had to, my former roomie (The state Senator) is running for State Auditor! She got my vote!

Busy week ahead. Have a good one friends!

Friday Five, The Gun Show Edition!!

  1. Pow! Look at those guns, baby! I have been pretty consistently lifting weights twice a week for an hour for two months now. Bam! Progress! I also got up and ran before work Tuesday-Friday this week. I’m on the treadmill by 4:55am. Who am I? (Oh yeah, I’m fiercely competitive and my 65 year old co-worker was beating me on the FitBit leaderboard. Not now, baby!!) I’m hoping to hit my steps before 11am. I’m less than 1,000 away right now.
  2. I’m heading to Omaha tonight for some time with the Bestie to watch one of the most fabulously campy Halloween movies ever made: Teen Witch! (Top That!) If you’ve seen it, then you will get that reference!
  3. Husker game this weekend (FOR FREE!!) with my friend Amber, my mom and her friend Annette. Girls day out! (My dad has to work.) I have to edit more videos after the game, but so far I’ve done 8 of the 10 I’ve been given.
  4. two-o-nine and I FaceTimed Last night. Those conversations are the best conversations. She also helped me figure out how to take a screenshot on my iPad Mini. image
  5. One more week in the office, then I head to Denver for our Annual conference November 1st-9th, AND then after that we get the next week off!! (What is my life? Am I dreaming? Comp time for conference? I’m a happy girl!)

Happy Friday Friends!!

TBT-11 years ago TODAY I started my TV News Career at the Ocho.

When I started as a shy 21 year old, I NEVER thought that I would stay for 10.5 years. I wouldn’t say that I miss the news, but instead, I miss the people I worked with.

My, oh my, how things have changed! Today, I’m working in a new field, excited for what lies ahead in this crazy life.

I’ve been lurking

Not too much of note here lately.

  • Got my steps in before noon today. That means I was on the treadmill at 4:55am for 3.5 miles. Who am I?
  • I’ve been editing more videos for my friend, which tends to eat up much of my free time in the evenings. However, my goal is 10 videos and at $100/video that equals some good money for Christmas and my credit card. Suffer now, no more debt later.
  • I’m dog sitting this little princess, Lola:
  • We went for a 1.5 mile walk last night after my 2 mile run. Then she played ball (by herself!) for a bit while I edited. She’s a sweetie, and goes home to her momma tonight.
  • The weather here is gorgeous; 77 degrees, sunny and pretty much Fall Perfection. I’m lovin’ it.
  • Some people are creeping on this blog. All the Omaha hits, 1 in particular! I’m lookin’ at you Creighton University. Tell me who you are. I won’t bite (hard). I just want to know who you are. (I have my suspicions. PLEASE don’t let them be true!!)
  • I’m going to the Nebraska Football Game on Saturday against Rutgers! For FREE! I’m excited!!! Thanks to my awesome mom!
  • Weight Lifting Class at the gym tonight. Gotta go pump some iron!

Have a good Tuesday Friends!

Should I be Offended?

Today at work a co-worker said (in jest) that I was just the “hot girl with nothing going on upstairs."

Um…excuse me? What?

I was saying that I felt like I couldn’t add much to the conversation about what supplies we needed to order and pack because I hadn’t done a conference yet and didn’t know what to expect. They said it was it fine, and I would know more next year, but then one of them said that.

I know she was joking. There was a pseudo-compliment there too, I suppose. But regardless, I’m not an idiot. There’s A LOT going on upstairs, thankyouverymuch.

Scenes from my day (and evening).

It’s one of those perfect fall days so I went for a run after work. Those pumpkins are ones my roommate brought home. Let’s hope they survive better than mine did last year after the squirrels got to them!

That rose is the last rose that we have blooming at our house. So lovely.

I wore my “run the good life” shirt for my run today. I dig it.

And guess what time of year it is!? It’s time for me to edit more videos! My friend brought me over this sweet set up so that I could edit for him. That’s what I’ll be spending the rest of my evening doing. Lame.

Happy hump day!
