I’m officially on Christmas Vacation until January 5th!!

2 weeks of fun, family, friends, and festivities stretch out before me.
I haven’t this long off for Christmas since I was in college!!

I’m sure I’ll be dealing with car stuff. And Thank you all for you kind words about yesterday’s accident! I’m fine. And Shaniqua still runs. She looks like someone took a big ol’ bite out of her…but she’s still going.

Happy Holidays Friends!!

Hi Friends! I’ve been a little MIA this week. Christmas vacation and all. Family, friends and fun have meant little time to Tumbl(e). Let’s catch up, shall we?

  • I got the above shirt for Christmas. I was quite pleased with the hair/shirt/makeup combo today. So you guys get a selfie. Sorry I’m not sorry. 🙂
  • Brooke  sent me this movie for Christmas. It was actually delivered to my Lincoln home, but I’m at my parent’s house 45 minutes away and didn’t make it back up there until today. Monday I was too sick to stop on the way home from Omaha. It’s one of her favorite movies to cry to. With this and the book “The Fault in Our Stars” from Hayley, I just think y’all want me to have a good cry as the year ends! 🙂 Its all good.
  • And Becky. This card. It came on Christmas Eve. I opened it, and had to sit down while reading. You guys. This girl. I adore her. What a sweet, thoughtful, and kind card. 2013 has been a year of ups and downs in my life. (a lot of downs, now that I think about it!) But friends like Becky, and all of you have made it so much better. I may have teared up a little Becky while reading your card. Thank you so very much! I hope you don’t mind that shared it with the internet! 😉

I’ve still got 3 full more days off from “the real world” and I’m taking advantage. It’s 55 degrees here and I’m feeling good, so a run outside without extreme layers is happening tomorrow! So excited! I’m also brewing a post about 2013 and 2014 goals. (I don’t do resolutions). Thanks for being wonderful friends guys!

Have a great night!

My day in (some) pictures:

My first day of vacation is pretty great! I slept in, (815 is sleeping in now. Crap, I’m getting old!) Then I ran 4 miles on the treadmill. I had lunch with 2 of my favorite guys at my favorite sandwich place. While there, a homeless man told me that I looked beautiful today. I’m sure that in no way was designed to make me give him money! 😉

I had to park in the parking garage and when I got on the elevator the “help” button was going off. A child had pushed the button and left. The man on the line was quite nice and said he was just glad everything was ok. He then wished me a Merry Christmas! So nice!

After lunch I got a one hour massage. Feels so good! My back and butt had so much tension in them! I feel so much better.

After that, I headed to my parents house where I made dinner. Fun Melissa fact: whenever I cook or bake I wear an apron. I’m so klutzy that I have the tendency to get food on my clothes. I have several aprons that my mom has bought me over the years. They’re adorable.

I’m spending the evening watching Christmas movies and relaxing. That’s a win. Vacation rocks.

Have a great night friends!
