A quick update:

This has been a busy weekend and day off, good news! I sent out (and got!) some tumblr mail today!

My secret santa, your present is in the mail! Expect it later this week! You didn’t have your anon option on, so I couldn’t leave you a note in your ask. So this will have to do! I hope you love it as much as I loved picking it out for you!

I got an amazing gift from Brooke (two-o-nine) in the mail today! And a wonderful card from Susie (sleepruneatrepeat) too! Brooke sent me our favorite candy: jr mints, and other assorted goodies, and the coolest mittens in the world! Thank you so much! I love my friends!

I need to update you on my weekend happenings, but that will come tomorrow!

Have a great night friends!

Merry Christmas from The Ocho!

Each year, my TV station does a Christmas Promo video. Usually we just stand there, wave and smile. This year, our Promotions lady wrote a story about us tracking Santa Claus. This is the finished product. I’m in the newsroom scene wearing a white and green striped shirt!

Enjoy!

It’s 56° on the last day of November. I HAD to go for a run! I was chatting with Brooke earlier after she posted about running in the snow this morning and knew I had to get out there!

So many people are out, putting Christmas lights on their homes. I love it!
I’m helping my parents decorate today and then off to a party tonight.

Have a great weekend friends!

I’ve been called a candy cane and an elf today. I’ve also been asked if i smell like peppermint. (the answer is no, although i should have worn my candy cane lotion!)
However, my skirt and shirt are sparkly pink, not red. Thankyouverymuch. I’m just in the Christmas spirit! Speaking of that….we are supposed to get 4 to 8 inches of snow tomorrow! Yay!

Have a great day friends!

Ugly Sweater 5k Run aka: my first sub 30 5k!

This run was fun! It was soooo cold! 32 degrees the entire race. It was cloudy and a wee bit windy. There were 5,000 runners and it wasn’t timed at all. we got Santa Hats and a pretty sweet pint glass for our efforts. And 2 free Sam Adams Winter Lager beers, but I don’t like beer, (blasphemy, I know! being a runner and all!)

My friend Rachael and I decided to run together and just get done because it was cold and we wanted to go eat breakfast somewhere afterwards. Omaha, especially downtown Omaha is fairly hilly, it’s right near the Missouri river. So we ran until there was a pretty nasty hill, which we walked up, and then ran the rest of the race. The upside to all the hills? The downhill! We were booking it for the last 2 miles. I wore my garmin, just to see where we were at, and we ended up PR’ing the race! My first sub-30 5k outside and for a race! 29:52! We were consistently running a 8:52 pace for the last 2 miles too! I was having a great run–once my feet thawed out!

I don’t usually like to run outside when its that cold, but maybe I should. This run was FANTASTIC!! My breathing was great and I just kept wanting to run faster. Maybe all that speed work on the treadmill is helping! 🙂

We came home and I took a super warm long shower and headed out to finish my Christmas shopping. I only have a little left online and then I’m done!

I call this day a success.

Now I finish shopping, watch some Christmas movies and enjoy my night!

Have a great one friends!

EDIT: It also started SNOWING at the end of the run! Talk about timing. Put me in the Christmas spirit!
