Is Flashback Friday still a thing?

Well, I’m making it a thing today.

That’s because 10 years ago tomorrow this picture was taken after I graduated from College at the University Of Nebraska-Lincoln. I’m pictured here with my besties.

Some things I vividly recall from graduation: They had to special order my gown; it was a 5’9 to 6’0 gown but there was a * on the tag, that meant it was bigger because the regular size gown just wasn’t going to fit my figure. I felt so ashamed when I tried on gowns at the graduation fair. I couldn’t wear one that fit too tight, so they had to special order it.

I’m glad some things change.

Flashback Friday, college graduation edition.

9 (gasp!) Years ago today, I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with my bachelors degree in journalism.

What a difference 9 years makes! I’m 150 pounds lighter, and so much happier.

Sometimes, it’s hard to look back and see these pictures. But I honestly think it’s good to remember.

Flashback Friday, the awkward years edition.

This would have been the summer after 4th grade. So 1991 I think? My brother is 3 years older than me. We were awkward together. Also, remember I’m tall. He and I are the same height, but I have it in my legs (a evidenced by the photo!) And he has it in his back.

Happy Friday friends!

Flashback Friday: 2 weeks ago Saturday. My friend’s wedding. Excuse the quality of the photo…I cropped it from a wider shot so it lost some resolution.

That moment when full body shot photos from your friend’s wedding show up on facebook…and you’re NOT horrified by how you look in a short dress and heels.

I’ve never been a big fan of my legs. Now I see them as strong and powerful.

It’s a good day.

Happy Friday friends! 🙂

Flashback Friday, my best friends wedding edition!

April 8, 2006.

There are so many things that I love about this picture, and so many that I’m horrified about. For instance, a professional makeup artist did my makeup, and I’m super pale. She had to use the whitest color on me, and even that seemed a little too much!

I was down about 40 pounds at this point. The day after her wedding, my friend and her new husband moved to Hong Kong. That was hard for me. But now? They’re back! And I’m visiting the friend on the right in Denver this weekend!

Happy Friday friends!

Flashback Friday, Birthday Edition.

At my work they put your name on the sign by the door announcing it’s your birthday. Every year I take my picture with the sign.

The first picture was from my birthday in 2004 or 2005. I was at or near my heaviest weight here. I would have been about 22 or 23 years old.

On the right is today’s picture. I’m turning the big 3-1 tomorrow. I’m pretty happy where things are. And I love my hot pink pants!! 🙂
