Today on snapchat.

It’s crazy freaking hot here. Feels like 112º so I wore a strapless dress to work (with a sweater over it at work!) But I took it off when we walked to lunch.

There’s a street in my neighborhood that lines their yards with American flags from Flag day until Independence Day. I love it! So patriotic! So I snapped that pic on my run this morning while wearing that ultra patriotic shirt! It was 80º at 545am so that’s fun.

I got off work early and got a slushie and came home to my parent’s house for the weekend.

Hope you have a great weekend friends!!

Well that’s fun. This heat isn’t going to break for the foreseeable future. I’m not going to complain because the cold and snow is so not my jam, but this is just the AIR TEMPERATURE! Add in the humidity and it feels even hotter.

I love Nebraska. I love Nebraska. I love Nebraska. I love air conditioning more though.

Bloody heck, it’s hot out there. We’ll be in a heat advisory this afternoon so I decided to get some miles in before it descended on us.

That did not happen. It was hot all night long. So I slugged out 2 miles walking and running. My bf called in the middle of the run and I gratefully answered…thankful for the reprieve. The humidity is killer.

I plan on a lot of pool time today. Happy Friday friends!

The Monday Struggle

  • Heat indices of 110 degrees mean I have little-to-no appetite. This dress was looser this morning…the scale was down a bit too. Win-win.
  • I am planning on moving bedrooms at my house into the Master bedroom right across the hall. I was debating if I wanted to because I thought it was hotter than my room. Turns out my previous roomie had LEFT THE WINDOW OPEN 6 INCHES when she moved out! I just got the electric bill. It didn’t do too much damage (yet). Ai yi yi.
  • My bf came over with his dog yesterday afternoon and evening. He set up my dryer for me (we had to buy a power cord for it) and while he was out he bought rope for the clothes line! Now we can dry clothes on the line. It’s embarrassing how excited I am about this.
  • I go on vacation next week. I’m finding it really hard to be productive this week.
  • I’m considering running the Omaha Marathon’s 10k race. 6.2 miles sounds like more fun than 13.1. AND the bf wants to run it with me!

Have a great week friends!

Hot weather and Husker hats

I am a big fan of this weather. I love pool weather and sunshine and just generally being outside in the heat. However, I also love my air conditioning. I’m complicated.

The Nebraska Bookstore (seller of all things Husker related) is closing next month so we trekked over during our lunch hour to see what was on sale. The entire store was half off, so I snagged that hat for $15! I needed a new ball cap.

Thanks for all the encouragement, RE: the man friend. I like him, you guys. I’m cautiously optimistic here, but I’m just going to stop fighting my commitment issues and enjoy it. We spoke again last night about the possibility of me going to New York with him in August for a wedding. The idea doesn’t freak me out now. I’m still not ready to book the flight, but I don’t feel like it would be a bad thing if I were to go.

I’m currently obsessed with the photographer who shot the wedding photos this weekend. His name is Wyn Wylie. He is 22-years-old and does AMAZING work, he travels all over and even is a lecturer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I wish I had a reason to have a photo shoot done–he’s that awesome! Check him here. Seriously. Do it.

I’m planning on trying to go for a very slow run after work…then a little Jillian after that! The man friend and I have plans to hang out tonight. I’m kinda excited to see him! WHO AM I?!?!

Scenes from my morning run.

It was 70 degrees at 6:30 this morning!! We’re going for a high of 95 today. That’s right, Ninety-freakin’-five on May 7th. Ouch. The AC was turned on last night.

First run since the Lincoln Half on Sunday. I had a post marathon Sports massage yesterday–she worked out my kinks in my back and quads, and said my IT bands felt “great”. Hooray!

There was a sprinkler on my run this morning. The humidity was at 77%. I ran through the sprinkler. It was amazing.

My brand new running shirt was soaked post-run. (I love that shirt’s saying!!) I feel so pretty! (haha!) But, as evidenced in the 2nd photo, it’s nothing a little shower and blow dryer can’t fix! And yes, I’m wearing a strapless dress. To work. In my defense, I’m covered with a cardigan! 😉

Have a great day friends!!

Sunday-Run Day!

10 slow miles. 70° and sunny. A gorgeous day. However, The wind was soul-crushing. But once I got to have it at my back? That was fantastic!

That “Eat Breakfast” sign is at a local Elementary School on my route. I dig it. Breakfast is the best. Fan for life.
Also, my phone just corrected “breakfast” in that last sentence to “breasts”. My phone must be a boy.

Its been a pretty great weekend. Days off are awesome. And spending them doing fun things? Even better.

One week until my birthday! Eeek!

Happy Sunday friends!
