The unemployment rate in Lincoln, Neb., is one of lowest in the U.S., thanks to a well-educated workforce. The focus now is on finding workers and keeping young people from leaving.
Bottom line of this story: Come to Nebraska, we’re awesome, there are fun things to do here (no, really!!) and there are jobs aplenty!

Fun fact: tonight is the opening concert for Lincoln’s brand new arena. We never get the big shows…they all go to Omaha. So they decided to build an arena. Its pretty cool. And they have acts like Bon Jovi, P!NK, Jay Z, and the Eagles!

The roomie interviewing Mr. Damon. Nice guy. His nephew is coming to UNL this fall. He says he’s now a Husker fan!
Matt Damon is in Lincoln today. He’s the mentor to an 18-year-old kid who is considering going to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (my alma mater!) and so they are touring the campus.
Seems like a cool dude…my roomie the reporter is out stalking him, trying to get an interview!

…Training for the Lincoln Half-Marathon begins soon. I think I’m going to do the Hal Higdon Intermediate Training Program. I did the Novice one for my first half last year. I run enough that I think its time to move up to another level in my training. Here goes nothing! 🙂
