Things and Stuff

  • @measuringlife and @snapthistiger I really didn’t make it a big announcement. We’ve been together for awhile now. So you didn’t miss anything! I generally have referred to him as “the bf” or “my bf”. I can see how one might skip over that. Things are good! We are going to New York next week to see his family. I’m excited for a vacation.
  • I wish losing weight was as easy as gaining it. I am so mad that I ever gained any weight back that I could scream. Losing 20 pounds is so much harder this time around. I’m extremely thankful for friends like @two-o-nine to talk me off the proverbial ledge. It is so easy to get down on myself, but Brooke is such a good cheerleader. Everyone needs a friend like that. #squad.
  • This afternoon I felt like my heart was either racing or going super slow, so I used the app on my phone to see which one it was. It was the latter. My co-worker freaked out and said that was “not good!” She said she’s been a runner her whole life (she’s 60) and her heart rate isn’t that slow. I told her that her age made a difference, and that my heart is just really efficient. Fun Fact: It has been as low as 35 BPM resting. #runnerprobs
  • I got an estimate for the damage on my car: it will be $2000!!! I’m leaning towards not fixing it yet, I really can’t afford the $500 deductible because I had to get a root canal and crown so that’s costing me nearly $600 out of pocket, with the premium dental plan at my work. Sigh.
  • I’m considering getting a PT waitressing job in the Haymarket in Lincoln. (It’s the district with restaurants, the arena, and shops). A friend hosted at a sushi joint there and said even on Wednesdays servers made $300 a night! I feel like I could manage that for a few months, just to make the money I need to cover some of these unexpected expenses. Stay tuned.
  • I cannot believe tomorrow is the last day of August. This month has FLOWN by.

Manis and pedi’s and a girl’s night after work last night that culminated in a sleepover. This morning I channeled my inner French girl (I just need a neck scarf and a beret!)
5k today for the National parks 100th birthday because that medal is adorable!! And tonight I’m helping a friend rewrite her resume. Busy day, but the weekend is just ahead!!

This has been A WEEK and it’s only Tuesday. Ugh

  • Monday started with a rude man calling me an “F’er” multiple times over the phone at work when I tried to help send his call in the right direction. I told him to quit swearing at me and I would help him. He called me the F word several more times and then hung up on me. So that’s fun.
  • This morning I managed to scrape and dent my rear passenger door on my car when I was parking in the garage. (I scraped into a pillar. Le sigh.) So I need to get that fixed eventually,. 
  • I had to get another root canal and crown. My share of this will total about $500. **Waves goodbye to all my money**
  • I’ve been going to the gym very faithfully since the beginning of July. I’m down 7 pounds and am lifting weights too. (Go team!) So I was happy with what I saw in the mirror this morning. So you get to see it too.
  • So you can just imagine how UNHAPPY I was when I saw the girl who helped me lose my job last October at MY GYM! Just who I didn’t want to see. UGH. So far, I just do my thing and completely ignore her. Rage running is a thing for a reason.
  • Today I ran at home, it was a cardio only day and my roomies are in Mexico so I killed some miles on my ‘mill, with the music blaring. Felt good to do that alone (it’s hot and humid here again and running outside makes my heart valve issue flare up.)
  • I’m watching the roomie’s dog, and I’m currently letting him play with my bf’s dogs. Their dog is a bit of a douchebag…he has no social skills, so our dogs get a little tired of him. 
  • My mouth hurts, I wish someone would give me like $5k, and I wish that dinner would make itself tonight.

TL;DR this week sucks, I need more money, and I have hillbilly teeth. But I’m down 7 pounds since July 15th!!!

Good morning sunshine!!

I like Saturdays because the bf usually makes me breakfast either before or after I run. He’s a good cook! This morning I brought over my chai tea mix and made that to go with breakfast. Delicious!

The heat and humidity broke last night with torrential rains and thunderstorms. This morning it’s in the 60s and feels fantastic. I’m going to head out for a run here soon.

We have a going away party tonight, and I’m watching my roomies dog for 5 days. He’s currently playing with the bf’s dogs, which we hope tires them out.

It feels like fall here, and that’s pretty cool. I hope you all have a great weekend!!

Lifting and running are happening here. All the sweat…even the always lovely back sweat!😝 The scale is beginning to move in the right direction, so that’s awesome!! Things are going well in my life, not much new to report!!

I feel like I’m pretty boring lately, but sometimes that is nice too!

My day in photos.

This dress. I love it. But I hate how it shows that I’ve gained weight. Le sigh. Look at that booty!!! Where did that come from?? 😨😬 I have 20 pounds to lose and I’m going to do it. I promise.

So today I went to the gym and met with the trainer. He showed me what weights I need to do and gave me a good plan. I know what I need to do. So here goes nothing! That photo is after my 3 mile interval run. ALL THE SWEAT. So gross.

4 miles despite a long, irritating, and very trying day. I decided I might as well do another mile when I hit 3. I wasn’t quite done unspooling my thoughts yet.

I had one of those days where I had a lot to do and going on, but all I could think was, “if I could just go for a run, I’d be able to clear my head and actually get this work done.” Sadly, no one thought I should do that! But now my head is clear and I have better ideas on how to fix a couple of articles I’m writing. You know I’m not going to worry about them tonight though!!

4 slow miles, but I’m doing this thing again. Slow and steady. Feels good.

Pizza day at the gym. (Why is this a thing?)

Mile walk to the gym in sunny, 90º weather. 3 mile run on the treadmill, then I lifted arms and back. Then I ignored the pizza, thankyouverymuch, and walked the mile home.

I’m hot and sweaty and tired. We walked 5 miles at the zoo yesterday and rode our bikes 30 miles on Friday. Am in back in shape yet????😂😂

That’s how you start a weekend, right? With a 30 mile bike ride??

The BF and I hit the trails and just kept going. Despite wearing padded shorts, my booty is sore, my back aches, and I’m exhausted.

Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
(We made those faces because the BF accidently made a wrong turn and we ended up on the railroad tracks😒).
