A beautiful Sunday morning snowfall.

My meteorologist roommate says it should end this afternoon. We have about 4 inches so far. I have to get out in it to go to work at Corky this afternoon. Ugh.

This morning I made cinnamon rolls for the roomies and I. The neighbor boy is scooping our driveway so I should just have to scoop off my car!

Now I’m in the Christmas spirit!

This day was fantastic! I ran in a tshirt and capris! And it’s December 2nd!

The bottom is going to drop out on Thursday in the form of a nasty cold front. But until then, I’m going to enjoy the gorgeous weather!

I did a little Christmas shopping and bought a present for my Secret Santa! Now I bake and relax.

Also, thank you for all the sweet and kind comments on my previous post. You’re the best!

Have a great day friends!

Friday Five!!

  1. It’s Friday and it’s Gameday baby! My Huskers are playing Iowa. It’s currently not going so well. 14-0 at the half. Get it together Nebraska! Edit: Now it’s 14-3, Nebraska just scored a field goal.
  2. I’m having Thanksgiving dinner with my family tonight and then a 3 day weekend! It’s the start of my 8 vacation days in December. I have to see my kidney doctor for my every 2 years (is that biyearly? IDK) appointment. Just a checkup. Then I’m going to do some Christmas shopping and maybe some baking!
  3. I bought a fabulous black lace curve-hugging dress at the Banana Republic Factory Store. I am in love. I need somewhere fancy to where it, stat. Or a date. Or both. I’m not picky! 😉
  4. I am currently alone in the newsroom. There is only 1 other person in the station with me. Gotta love holidays!
  5. My mom and friends keep asking what I want for Christmas. I have no idea. Any good ideas for me friends?

Happy Friday and weekend Friends!!

A few more pictures from last night’s grand opening and fashion show.

On the left, we hit the mall to be the first shoppers. Warren Buffett owns the jewelry store Borsheims. This picture makes it look like a legit red carpet. Love it.

The second photo, my friend and coworker Rob and I hit the catwalk! We’re fierce!

Happy Friday friends!

Over-booking myself and FOMO

I’ve told you in This post that I think I’m an introverted extrovert. I like to be with people most of the time, but find that I definitely need my “me” time and when my weekends are too booked up I get a little growly about it.

Sunday was go-go-go from the minute I got up. I shouldn’t complain about having friends/plans/and people who want to see me. I went to Church in the morning, then I ate a quick lunch and went to the Pumpkin patch with one of my best friends and her husband:

After that, I jetted back to Lincoln for the Bon Jovi concert! It was great (I only knew about 7 songs, but wow, the guy puts on a great show! And I was able to take my parents (for free!) so that made it even better. It was nice to be able to do something nice for them for once!)

Now I say this because I DID have a good time, but part of why I accepted the tickets was FOMO (fear of missing out). I do this a lot in my life. I say yes to doing things that I don’t always want to do, just because I don’t want to miss out on things that others are doing. When in all reality, I should just realize that I DON’T actually want to do it, and be okay with saying no.

It’s a word I’ve got to work on. Saying no to others, and yes to myself.

What a novel concept.

Happy Monday friends! Make it great!

The World is Small

Do you follow Erin over at esofine? She’s a pretty cool cat. She’s from Nebraska (lives in Omaha, I’ve bought some clothes from her this summer, she’s friend’s with a few of my former co-workers, and she loves all things Husker football.) She’s another one of my soul sisters I think. Good people. I could just tell.

My mother first “introduced” me to her because she follows her on Twitter-she tweets about Husker football and is quite funny too. So I had heard a lot about her before I ever found her on Tumblr.

I’ve never met her, but I knew I’d like her if I did.

So I wasn’t too surprised last night when I got to the Buble concert and saw a photo on my dashboard of her and her mother at the concert.

But I WAS surprised when I saw Erin and her mom sit down in THE ROW RIGHT IN FRONT OF US! 15,000 people in this arena and SHE’S RIGHT THERE? What are the odds?

I had to say hi, so my mom said her name, and we ended up chatting for awhile.

I was totally right; soul sisters. I felt like I knew her already! How awesome is that? Super nice and sweet. The world is so small!

Erin, it was so great to finally meet you!

Oh yeah, picture or it didn’t happen!

Well, it was chilly enough this morning for a long sleeve shirt! That’s my kind of weather! Great run, about a minute faster than yesterday! What a difference cooler temps and lower humidity make with my heart problem. Yesterday my pace was 11:20/mile. Today? 10:20/mile! That’s fantastic for me! I was also running a 8:15 pace for awhile! Success!

Happy Friday friends!
