Random things just keep happening to me

I was out for my morning run today when I heard a car slowing down in the road next to me.

As I looked over, the man inside rolled his window down, smiled and yelled at me, “can I give you a lift?”

I shook my head, said “no” and promptly turned the corner off that street.

The man sped off and I booked it home.

I don’t think he was going to abduct me…But you can never be too sure…

Can we please talk about how happy wearing leggings to work makes me? Comfy pants, a flowy top and boots. New standard uniform.

What you can’t see from the photo is that I have a long black cami over my leggings which covers my butt. Therefore this outfit is totally appropriate, right?

I took some ZZZQuil last night as I’ve been having trouble falling asleep. I had some trippy dreams. Good stuff.

Tonight, I’m heading back to my weightlifting class at the gym after a 2 week hiatus due to conference and not being in town. I hope I don’t regret the time off.

Running has been good. 2-3 mile runs most days of the week. I’m making every effort to get at least 10,000 steps in each day too. Things are humming along nicely.

I’m also currently ignoring text messages from the 22-year-old. I don’t know how to deal with him so I’m ignoring it. Not the best solution but I just hate confrontation and am trying to figure out what to say and how to say it. How do I manage to get myself into these messes? (Don’t answer that!)

28° this morning. Sunny and a little breezy. So what does any normal person do before they head out of town for a work conference for 8 days? Do they sleep in? Nope. They go for a run!

2.05 miles in 21:16. A pretty great run. The cold air felt great on my lungs and I was pretty good about staying around a 10:31 pace.

Now to shower and get ready to head to Denver for my first conference (that we put on! I’m a bit nervous!)

Happy weekend friends!

Scenes from my day (and evening).

It’s one of those perfect fall days so I went for a run after work. Those pumpkins are ones my roommate brought home. Let’s hope they survive better than mine did last year after the squirrels got to them!

That rose is the last rose that we have blooming at our house. So lovely.

I wore my “run the good life” shirt for my run today. I dig it.

And guess what time of year it is!? It’s time for me to edit more videos! My friend brought me over this sweet set up so that I could edit for him. That’s what I’ll be spending the rest of my evening doing. Lame.

Happy hump day!

Running at 7,500 feet is waaayyyy harder than running at 1,176 feet! Ugh.

However! I did get about 5 miles of runs in during my trip to Estes Park.

Today is the last day of vacation. I had back to Nebraska this evening. This trip was wonderful. I’m so happy for my friend Tracey and her husband Curtis!

Two weeks of quiet time (ish…i have to edit some videos for my friend these next two weeks) and then I head back to Denver for my work conference November first.

Happy weekend friends!

Good morning my lovelies! I hope you’re all having a wonderful Wednesday! Today is my Friday and I’m in a Friday kind of mood over here. 🙂

Some things of note:

  • I got a new curling iron yesterday. The wire was shorting out on my current one. It is amazing what a quality curling iron will do. Curls for days!
  • I finally sent my Tumblr Hoody out for the exchange today. Sorry Sarah! I didn’t mean to take so long! I hope you like it.
  • I leave for Colorado after work tonight for a wedding on Friday. Our flights were $45 each way on Southwest. Can’t beat that!
  • I got an email saying there will be free in-flight wifi and free in-flight tv. So I downloaded an app and plan to watch some shows during the short 1.5 hour flight tonight. Hooray!
  • Last night, my roomie looked at me and said: “You are so skinny.” My first instinct was to say thank you. But should it have been? I don’t know. I’d rather be seen as strong and toned. Slim even. But skinny? Is that something that I should strive for? Probably not.
  • I ran last night after work and again this morning before work. I’m tired and need a nap. Maybe on the plane tonight? Maybe I’ll sleep in tomorrow? A girl can dream.
  • Have you guys seen this video? So, so good. I love the original song, but this is a pretty great remake.
  • My friend and I are renting a car for this wedding trip as the wedding is in Estes Park and we’re flying into Denver. Adulting. Cool.
  • The other day I was told that I “seem happier and more confident.” This person attributed it to the new job. I would agree with all of it. I didn’t know how much I needed this life change.

Happy Hump Day Friends!!

On Sunday, I ran my 10th Half Marathon in Omaha. (There were countless other runs that were at least that long during training runs, but these were the ones that I paid for and got medals for!) So I decided to make a fun little collage to commemorate the milestone! Here are my efforts.

It has my Full Marathon and the Beat The Blerch, which I don’t count as #11 because I ran 1 race and got 2 medals, because that’s how I roll.

Things of note: I really like that blue jacket. And my sweet white sweat bands. And bright colors. Yikes!

Anyway, just wanted this to live here forever to remind me of all of the hard work and dedication that it took to do it!

Me, Today.

My legs are a little tight today, but not too bad. I am sore though!

You really do have to forget the pain of the last race before you’re willing to do another. Seeing as the Omaha Half was just yesterday, I’m not ready to forget that pain yet. Sometimes I think, maybe I should do another Full Marathon. Then I think, LOLZ, NOPE, and I’m happy with halfs and shorter races. So is my knee.
