Today on Snapchat

  • I channeled @amanda-healthyhappywhole and had some caffeine as big as my head! Homemade Chai Latte FTW! Also, I rocked some second day hair. Pretty pleased about that one!
  • I ran to Walgreen’s and saw my old car’s twin. I had twinge of nostalgia and then I realized I was driving my wicked awesome 2013 Ford Escape. Present Melissa was pleased with the way things have turned out!
  • 3 miles on the treadmill after work resulted in a good run, a lot of sweat, and some minor repairs with the Allen wrench! (I had to ask my man friend who is a mechanic on the side what it was via snapchat, whoops!)
  • We’re in week 3 of Lincoln Half Marathon Training. Things are going well. I’m still contemplating a few changes…but I’m working on it.
  • Life is pretty good otherwise, I’m keeping busy and I think that’s a good thing! 🙂 I tend to obsess when I’m not busy, you know?

Have a good week friends!

Thursday Things

·I have to run after work tonight. It seems like every time that happens I’m having a stellar hair day. Seems like such a shame to ruin it!

·Because I’m ridiculous, I started giggling when I found that carrot in my lunch today. I’m 12. It’s fine.

·I got locked out of my (running) car on Wednesday. I had used my remote start to start it early, then went outside to scrape and leave for work. Apparently Ford Escapes REALLY want you to be safe, because the doors automatically lock when you do that. I had to get out to get more snow off my windshield wipers and discovered I WAS LOCKED OUT!! Good thing I have a spare house key AND my spare car key inside my house. Crisis averted!

·6 runs into my training schedule I finally had to run on the treadmill last night. The perk? I finally wore my new shoes! And the run was good. I’m getting back into better cardiovascular shape and running feels fairly effortless again.

·However, I know I need to lift weights. I’m not losing weight and I’m not going to if I don’t give up the illusion that only running will get me there. This article popped into my email this morning. Bloody Freakin’ Heck. I know what I need to do. And I just don’t want to. The struggle. http://greatist.com/move/running-mistakes-not-losing-weight?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=daily_newsletter_2016-02-02_mails_daily_new_header

·My hips and lower back hurt a lot right now. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting back into a scheduled running program, or what. But I ache. I think I’m going to schedule a massage and see if she can work some of my kinks out.

·The emotionally unavailable Firefighter is still texting and snapchatting on the reg. The more that I don’t engage, the more he comes around. I HATE playing games, but it appears that’s what is going on. (shrugs) Whatever, dude.

·I’m going to the Ocho’s Holiday party on Sunday with my friend Keith who still works there. This is the latest they’ve ever had their holiday party—and it’s Super Bowl Sunday!

Have a great Friday Eve Cats!

They say we’re going to get 5-10 inches of snow tonight into tomorrow. 45 mile per hour winds will make it worse. So I switched tomorrow’s run for today because if I can run outside instead of on the treadmill, then I’ll do it!

I can work from home tomorrow, so that’s pretty awesome! I’m not too concerned about going in.

Today was crazy busy but in a good way. Each day that I’m doing my job I love it more. How fun is that?? 🙂

Have a great week cats!

Saturday.
4 miles. 55° degrees.
A decent run.

In other news, the nice guy started acting shady Friday. My gut told me something was up. Long story short he isn’t over his ex and she contacted him Thursday night, he wants to get closure on that because he didn’t think it’s fair to me to date until he has that closure.

I appreciate it, but geez, does that suck. I’m really tired of only dating emotionally unavailable and messed up men it seems. I’m not sure what the answer is, to take a break or what. But I do know that friends like @running-matt and @two-o-nine make things a lot easier.

After his texts this morning I headed out for my run. The sweat really did help me feel better. That saying really is true.

Tonight I’m going to the movies with my friend and then out with the ochos. I’m going to forget about dumb boys and feel better!

Hi Friends!

This has been a weird week here in the heartland. Snow Monday and then nice weather and a decent warm-up the rest of the week. They’re forecasting a “major snowstorm” next Tuesday. Could be significant snow—we’re talking 8-12+ inches. I’m so ready for spring. But I digress. Let’s talk about other things that aren’t the weather!

·Today was food day at work. My one co-worker is leaving for another job and the other had a birthday. So we brought in food and ordered pizza for lunch. I’m happy to report that I made decent food choices and feel good about what I ate.

·We’re in the middle of the Nebraska Legislative Session. (Fun Fact: Nebraska is the only state with Unicameral Legislature. We only have one house, one body. It works really well.) But that means things are crazy busy here! It has been a lot of go-go-go today. Makes the day go faster, I suppose.

·This morning my co-worker told me that I was, “A mix of Ginger and Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island.” He said I was “Ginger Ann!” I LOVE that!! He said that means I’m a good mix of the girl next door and the sexy movie star. Made my day! I posted that on Facebook and my former Chief Meteorologist said that is the perfect compliment to give to a woman, and in my case it was totally true! Love him!!

·I bought a Pink Hyacinth at Trader Joe’s on Saturday. I do not have green thumb, but that sucker is thriving and is quite beautiful and fragrant. I love it.

·The sunrise this morning was gorgeous. The sunset last night on my run was incredible. We have some pretty skies here this time of year.

·Speaking of runs, I’m going out again tonight for another 3 miles. Saturday is my “long run” of 4 miles. I believe I will be able to get all of my first week of Lincoln Half Marathon Training done outside. I’m a BIG fan of that!! Makes running so much more pleasant that way!

Happy Friday Eve Cats!

I missed my run this morning because I kept snoozing my alarm! However I was rewarded with pretty decent weather today so I ran outside after work!

3.35 miles//39:56. I had to walk through some snow that people didn’t clear from their sidewalks, but it was a good run.

I’m working on getting out of my own way. I haven’t made my best food choices lately and I can see and feel it in my body. I’m contemplating some pretty big changes and commitments. But I know that something has to give. Stay tuned!

This morning on Snapchat.

A great evening last night meant for a short night of sleep. But, Yolo?? No regrets!

Guess what? I ran last night! 3 miles. Go team! I’m going to run again tonight and then catch up on the DVR.

I got a few messages I will respond to tonight as well. Sorry for my delay!

@running-matt and I were discussing how this place appears to be dying. Say it isn’t so friends! I hope we get replies back soon because that interaction is what makes this such a wonderful community full of my dear friends!

Happy Thursday! Make it great!

Life Update

I haven’t been posting here that much. It kind of happened out of the fact that I don’t like to write posts on my phone or ipad and would rather write on my computer. But I can’t use my work computer to get onto Tumblr–the state would freak out! So my posts are fewer than usual.

But I’m here to promise that will change. Training for the Lincoln Half Marathon will start next Monday so I’ll start running 5 days a week and complaining about it! 😉

Weekend things:

  • I got my hair did. My hair lady wanted to try something fun. This happened. It was fun, but I could never recreate it!
  • It snowed here. It is supposed to snow another 2-4 inches tomorrow. Blech. I’m over this whole winter thing! I want spring please. Thanks!
  • I saw that sign at Wal-Mart. I snapchatted it to my ex. We both LOL’d. Despite the break up and his stupidity I am glad that I met him.
  • That last photo is my oldest nephew. He’s 9 and with that hairdo he looks about 14. I just can’t even.

I said in my response to Anon about my lack of posting that life has been weird. That is for another post entirely. Suffice it to say that I really hate dating sometimes. This is not a pity party but I honestly don’t understand some men. Like, you’re 32. Grow up and get your life together. I’m tired of lame excuses and immature guys.  Maybe I will just never find “him.”

I’ve been doing a bit of running here and there…that will dramatically increase next week. I’ve also been doing the 30 day shred most days-if not a bit sporadically! 🙂

I had today off since it is a state holiday! I get 10 more this year!! (President’s days and Arbor Day are the next ones we get!) I’ve slept in, did a little grocery shopping at Sam’s and have been doing some laundry. A solid day of adulting.

I’ve missed you friends. I promise I’ll do better! 🙂

Well, well, well…Look who ran this weekend! It’s me!!

Just a couple of very chilly miles, but it’s better than sitting on the couch which is what I actually wanted to do.

I signed up at 3 o’clock this morning for the Lincoln Half marathon. It will be my 12th half overall and 6th Lincoln Half in a row. Training starts in a few weeks.

I did my hair today because I had time. So you guys get to see it!

Back to work tomorrow. I don’t really have the Sunday Sads…just wish I could go on vacation to somewhere warm!

Have a great evening friends!
