Turkey Trot 2 miler with my family.

My 8 year old nephew and I ran this one together. I’m so proud of him…He ran the whole thing! First time he’s done that in a race! And it was 15°! My legs are finally thawing.

We did it in 22:59. He’s awesome!

He won’t make a normal face when taking pictures. These were the best of the bunch.

My brother won a free Turkey and the boys each won a raffle bag. I’m the Susan Lucci of drawings…so I didn’t win anything, per usual!

Happy Thanksgiving friends! I’m thankful for all of you!

This might look like an empty basement of a TV Station. But I assure you, it’s much more than that. I’m working today, and during my lunch break I used it as a track. I brought my running clothes and ran laps around the basement! I did about a half mile according to my Garmin! I’m doing it again after the 5pm before they bring in the Turkey Dinner! It’s my own version of a Turkey Trot! 🙂

I would have done it on the treadmill before work, except my roomie and her boyfriend live in the basement of our house where my treadmill lives. The sound in the morning wakes them up. If they have to work, they don’t care. But on a holiday that they’re both off? Forget it!! I couldn’t do that to them. So I will get my miles in somewhere, somehow!

Happy Thanksgiving Friends! Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Turkey Trot on the Treadmill

I’m working today. The news doesn’t stop for holidays, and even though I’m management, I still have to work some holidays. So even though my town had a Turkey Trot this morning, I wasn’t able to attend. I decided to run my own version. The weather is gorgeous here, but the sun doesn’t come up until 7am. And I dislike running outside when its dark out. I don’t have a headlamp…maybe I need to look into one.

So I planned to do a 5k outside. But then I woke up late, and figured I should just quickly pound out a mile on the treadmill. So I decided that if I didn’t have time to run a lot, I would run fast. So I ran a mile at 9:13 pace. This is huge for me! I haven’t run that fast for that long in awhile! It felt good. So even though it wasn’t a 5k, it was still something.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with friends and family.

Thanksgiving Eve

I have to work tomorrow and Friday. Tomorrow is one of the easiest days of the year to work at my TV station; no upper management is there, its usually quiet, and I get to do what is called “pack and stack” my show. That means I find ABC packages and fill my show with that. Its easy and means a lot less work for me! Yay!
I’m the only one in my fam working so they are cooking and we are having dinner when I get home. Score one for me! No cooking, just eating!
My town’s Turkey Trot takes place too late for me to take part in it…so I’m running my own in the morning before work! Even at 7am the weather is supposed to be fantastic! 64 degrees is the forecast high! Gotta love middle of the country weather! So I am venturing outside for my run tomorrow.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving friends!
